The tribal council of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community (SCC) traveled to the University of Wisconsin–Madison for a historic meeting with health sciences and biomedical researchers and staff on September 11-12. Melissa Metoxen, Lauren Cornelius and Lina Martin presented and led a tour of the NACHP space.

Dr. Bret Benally Thompson, NACHP’s Director of Indigenous Health and Cultural Guidance, has been named the Physician of the Year by the Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP), recognizing his “exceptional clinical skills, compassionate patient care and commitment to advancing health care for American Indian/Alaska Native populations.”
