Crafternoons

Fall semester Crafternoon dates: October 15, November 13, December 12, and December 19, 2025. 

Crafternoons take place in the NACHP space on the first floor of the Health Sciences Learning Center. During these meetings, you can take a study break, exchange crafting knowledge with one another, build relationships and community. Come and work on an existing project or learn something new.

Distinguished Lecture Series

The Distinguished Lecture Series is funded by the Indians Into Medicine (INMED) grant within the Indian Health Service in the Department of Health and Human Services. NACHP hosts three public lectures per year and are available in both in-person and virtual formats.

Great Lakes Native American Medical School Applicant Workshop

March 27-28, 2025

The Great Lakes Native American Applicant Workshop is for those interested in applying for any medical school. It features mini-sessions covering the application process, MCAT overview and strategies, tips for writing a personal statement and a medical student panel, in addition to a keynote address from a Native physician.

Indigenous Health and Wellness Day

Save the date for next year’s event held April 23–24, 2026!

On Indigenous Health and Wellness Day, NACHP welcomes around 100 Wisconsin middle and high school students to Madison for a day of health sciences learning. Activities include hands-on experiences, team-building, wellness exercises, and insights from current American Indian health students. The event, held in partnership with UW–Madison, Madison College, and Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council-NARCH, aims to inspire students to join the campus community. Lodging is provided.

NACHP partners with communities across the state to cohost Indigenous Health Youth Expos for middle and high school students to promote health careers exploration.

Summer Wellness Challenge

The 2025 Summer Wellness Challenge has ended. Stay tuned for more fun activities in 2026.

In this multi-week, Bingo-like activity, middle school, high school and college students can select from a variety of activities across diverse health categories and complete a quick survey to earn a raffle entry. For each week completed, participants will earn an additional raffle entry.
